We stayed a couple of days in Split in a great building right in the Palace, which felt really special even though the church bells start at 6am and the streets stay lively until midnight. We used earplugs and enjoyed wandering the unique surroundings in the mornings, found the bed squishy but comfy, loved the olive oil shampoo, and appreciated the hot drink table with good coffee in the communal area. Getting up means a couple flights of stairs plus steps into the old town-best to enter from Hrvojeva Street for fewer stairs-and with live music at Lvxor and the fab Fig downstairs, plus easy self check-in and helpful messages from Ivana, it was a solid spot.
